Universe Horizons Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. The policy of Universe Horizons is to respect your privacy and comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning any personal information we might collect about you, including on our website, https://universehorizons.com.

Our website is a static informational site. It has no user accounts, no login, no contact forms, and no payment processing. We do not set cookies. We do use a privacy-preserving analytics service, described below, to understand which pages are visited and how long visitors stay — it stores nothing on your device. In short, we do not ask you for personal information or collect it directly through the site.

This policy is effective as of September 18, 2026.

Last update: September 18, 2026.

Information collected when you visit

Our website is served through Firebase Hosting, a service provided by Google. As with virtually any website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical request data in its server logs each time a page is loaded. This can include your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version (user agent), the page requested, and the date and time of the request.

This data is processed by Google as part of operating the hosting infrastructure and is handled in accordance with Google's own privacy practices. For details on how Google processes this information, please see the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security information.

Please note that while this information might not identify you personally on its own, it might be possible to combine it with other data to personally identify individual people.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a product-analytics service acting as our data processor, to understand how this site is used: which pages and sections are opened, how long each one is on screen, which links and controls are used, how quickly pages load, and whether any script fails. PostHog runs here in its cookieless mode: it sets no cookies, it writes nothing to your browser's local or session storage, and it never assigns you an identifier that we can store or look up again. Visits are counted using a rotating, non-reversible value that PostHog's servers derive from ordinary request data; we cannot use it to identify you or to follow you across other websites.

What is recorded is the address of the page you are on, the address of the page that linked you to it if there was one, your device type, browser, operating system and screen size, and the interactions listed in our analytics documentation — for example that a chapter of the CV was opened, that a language was selected, that a file was downloaded, or that a project was launched. Your network address is used only to derive the rotating value described above; it is never stored alongside your events, and no location is worked out from it, not even the country you are in. We also receive page-performance measurements and, if something breaks, the technical details of the error. We never attach your name, your email address, anything you type into a search or form field, your location, or any other free-form text to these records. Session recording, surveys and advertising features are not enabled, we do not sell this data, and we do not combine it with data from other sites. It exists only in our PostHog project and is deleted according to the retention period configured there; see the PostHog Privacy Policy for how PostHog processes it on our behalf.

If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it: the analytics script is never loaded and nothing at all is collected. You can also switch analytics off for your own visits at any time by opening any page of this site with ?analytics=off added to the address — for example universehorizons.com/?analytics=off. That choice is stored in your own browser, applies to every page and app on this site, and is never sent anywhere; ?analytics=on reverses it.
